The Pilgrims Hospices Therapeutic Labyrinth Garden
Set in the grounds of the Pilgrims Hospice at Canterbury, this paver labyrinth was designed by Andrew Wiggins, our senior designer, working in collaboration with Labyrinth historian Jeff Saward.
Natural sandstone paviors cut specially for this labyrinth pattern form a smooth stone surface, the paths and walls delineated by contrasting coloured stones. The labyrinth is based on a classical design and has five circuits with paths wide enough to enable those using wheelchairs and mobility aids to benefit from the labyrinth experience.
Dr Richard Morey, Chairman of Trustees of Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent has commented; “Pilgrims' professional team care for the whole person so we are very pleased to be creating a new service which will be of spiritual, emotional and psychological benefit to our patients and their carers.”
